The desperate hour has come;
Kingdom touches kingdom,
the fading flute, the deafening drum.
Fury and rage;
darkness and light,
violent clashes, through the violent night.
Fear and hope surge within the searching heart...
the silent gaze...
"These are the times that try men's souls..."
and of what mettle are they caste?
Where is the seer? Where, freedom's voice?
Where, sweet morning's redemption?
The desperate hour has come;
